People who study history are fearless explorers of the past. They investigate past politics, societies, cultures, languages, health, art, education, money, conflicts and more, look at how things have developed over time and connect the dots to understand how we got where we are today.

It might be about the past, but there are plenty of careers in history that you can pursue today. Why study history? Because it's great news for your future!

GCSE History and Attainment 8

Pupils will need to study 8 GCSEs in order to get a balanced curriculum offer from the academy. Colleges and Apprenticeships may ask for a certain Attainment 8 score, which is a point score made up of 8 GCSEs. This video will explain how it works.

As every subject counts towards Attainment 8, students needs to be working hard in all subjects in order to score as highly as possible as they wouldn't want one subject to pull their Attainment 8 score down and put at risk college places.
